Lost and Found is a project created by the Nikkei National Museum & Cultural Centre with featured posts from our friends aimed to generate a conversation across our community. This conversation, with your help, will let us put names to faces and places. We hope you will join in by leaving comments with information about the posted photographs; who is in them, where or when they were taken, and what you think.

My father was in Tashme but I don’t see him here. The white man in the suit with what looks like a cigarette and the lady in the dark blazer looks like Mr. and Mrs. Mac. They were teachers in the school and the 4 in that group were largely responsible for the high school classes. The government would only provide elementary school and actively discouraged a high school but they were missionaries and she taught school in Japan before the war.
