Lost and Found is a project created by the Nikkei National Museum with featured posts from our friends aimed to generate a conversation across our community. This conversation, with your help, will let us put names to faces and places. Each week we will post new photographs and we hope you will join in by leaving your comments on who or where or when or what you think about the photograph. ReplyDeleteThanks Mark.
ReplyDeleteSo from your Dad's memory we have updated the description to this:
This image shows eight boys dressed up in hula costumes and standing on stage. Behind them is a backdrop of palm trees and the moon. The boys shown from left to right are Willie Takahashi, Tats Horii, Arnold Arai, Harley Hatanaka, Wally Fukumoto, Kaz Kadonaga, Reichi Nishikawa and Henry Takahashi. On the page this photograph is mounted on in pen it reads, "Hula Dancers. Me. Arnold. Wally. Reichi. Tats. Harley. Kaz. Henry".
Would you say that is about right?

There is a facebook site called town of woodfibre. I noticed the name Wally Fukumoto on an item on the site the references a 1982 Woodfibre reunion in Toronto. There are many pictures on the town of woodfibre some that go back to 1912. If this Whally Fukumoto is from Woodfibre there might be interest in viewing the site.
