ReplyDeleteThis photo is probably 1953 or 54 and it may have been close friends of the Vancouver Nisei Fellowship (United Church youth group) gathered for Kuni Uchida's farewell party. The place is at Gordon Imai's on Wallace Crescent when he was studying biology at UBC and roomed with Roy Fukuzawa. (D) = passed away)
Front row from Left to right:
Gordon Imai(D) (later Reverend Imai) Alice Konishi (Married Dr. Yamanaka) Gordon Kadota, Kuni Uchida (with baloon, married Ki Kumekawa who was assigned to the Far East by Pepsi Cola) Roy Fukuzawa (Engineer retired in Toronto) Asa Furuya(D) (nurse later married to Roddik) Elmer Hara (Arthur Hara's younger brother who just returned from Japan)
