Home Run at Powell Street: The collections team at the Charles H. Kadota Resource Centre at the Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre is seeking members of the public to engage in the identification of hundreds of newly accessioned photographs depicting the Powell Street community and Vancouver area Japanese Canadian baseball teams, as part of a Library and Archives Canada funded project called 'Home Run at Powell Street.'

    This picture was taken at the second sports day of the Japanese language school on July 2, 1917.
    Yo Horii and Tad Furumoto, who took first place in the various group long-distance races at the call, and Tad Furumoto, who took second place.
    This photo was taken to commemorate the Asahi team's victory.
    Asahi Team's manager is Ihachi Miyazaki.
